It’s not always easy to get heard, even if you have something important to say. Immigrants know this well. We come to this country with great expectations, and for many of us that means having a well-paid professional job in our field of expertise. But we face many barriers in accessing these jobs, and our cries for help often go unheeded.
“Working in our professional field is crucial in measuring our successes and defining our identities in Canada,” says Olga Scherbina, acting chair of the BC Internationally Trained Pro- fessionals Network’s Leadership Roundtable.
