The Maple Bamboo Initiative was a one year pilot project with a goal to promote the involvement of newcomers by providing them training and practical experience in public processes such as parent teacher councils, health and neighborhood advisory committees, community forums, and business & professional organizations. Olga Scherbina was contracted as a Project Coordinator.

Scope of the project: administered all aspects of project management including project logistics, marketing, training and communicating with 60 training participants’ and 25 volunteer host organizations, handled all project cash flow, and quarterly funder reports; developed training materials including training manual, case scenarios, and presentation; co-facilitated five public involvement training sessions with total of 60 trainees
