BC New Canadian Entrepreneur Award – Nominations Are Open
The BC New Canadian Entrepreneur Awards are given to individuals who, as new Canadians, have been recognized for their business achievements across a range of industries, as well as for their personal leadership and community involvement.
Nominees must have been in business for three full years (business established on or before January 01, 2011) or two years for Emerging (New) Entrepreneur (business established on or before January 01, 2012) . The nominee(s) must have controlling interest and be active in the business.
All nominees are judged on the same criteria. The award recipients are chosen by a panel of judges comprised of business professionals, entrepreneurs, members of the Ethno Business Council of British Columbia and representatives from BDC, TD CANADA TRUST and Miller Thomson, LLP.
Who is Eligible for a BC New Canadian Entrepreneur Award?
Any entrepreneur born outside of Canada is eligible. Awards are given to individuals who, as New Canadians, are recognized for their business achievements across a wide range of industries, as well as for their personal leadership and community involvement. The nominee(s) must have at least 51% or more ownership and be active in the business, with his/her primary income flowing from that business.
Nomination Process
Individuals, associations, organizations and provincial or local governments may nominate individuals for the 2014 BC New Canadian Entrepreneur Awards. Individuals may also nominate themselves – self-nominations are encouraged.
