Immigrant Professionals & Jobs in BC – a new LinkedIn Group
Five days ago I started a new LinkedIn group – Immigrant Professionals and Jobs in BC. Before I only joined LinkedIn groups and received tons of information. So, I always wondered how moderators find time to locate all this info, post it, initiate discussions and manage posts from other members. Well, no problem managing the posts from other members for me because so far people do not participate that much. The idea behind this LinkedIn group was to create a space for new and established immigrants to exchange their ideas and experiences in looking for a jobs in BC and allow us to create a stronger networking bonds. It is much easier to ask for info interview with someone you had a good discussion already, even if it was online. We have 13 members as of February 7 and I many of them are professionals who have been here for over 10 years and work in their respected fields. New immigrants, take advantage and get to know these professionals! They might be your connection to your next great job.
