Metro Vancouver Leaders Summit on Immigrant Employment to be held October 22 at Wosk Centre

ALLIES has awarded the Vancouver Foundation a Start-up Phase One grant. Vancouver is Canada’s immigrant gateway of the west. Its foreign-born population has more than doubled since 1981 and today nearly 40% of the city’s residents are born outside of Canada.
The Metro Vancouver Immigrant Employment Summit will be held in October to bring together employers, governments, community organizations, labour, and other relevant stakeholders to create a regional multi-sectoral immigrant employment initiative. As a part of this initiative, Vancouver is developing an action plan to implement local interventions that will assist skilled immigrants in finding employment.
